#60025 RE: willem #60017

Willem--Such a fundamentally fair, decent, generous and kind post! It is relatively rare to see such posts on this rather tempestuous board. Weby has held pretty much held a monopoly on such posts.

It really is, in my mind, a complete and utter no-brainer that the new PC hardware required for the Microsoft/Air Force Contract will by definition require tpm 1.2 to make any sense at all. I'm not hyping, as a number of folks would claim. I absolutely believe it is true.

Intel's LaGrande and MS Longhorn are security driven and both are working in lockstep to usher en masse hardware security referred to as TPMs. The Microsoft/Airforce Contract is being driven by security that will be so unprecedented that MS is willing to assume legal liability for security mishaps. The whole darn Air Force Security Infrastructure will be collapsed from 200 plus networks to ONE SINGLE NETWORK!!!! I mean anyone can review the material and review for themselves whether or not the fingerprints of LaGrande and Longhorn are all over this contract.

I also made it very clear in my prior posts that WAVE remained a question mark as it related to the Microsoft/Air Force. I'm not sure how the Attestation and Interoperability will happen without WAVE, but regardless, I haven't hyped AT ALL a WAVE connection.

Shalom
