Barge

I'm writing this one only because one thing you and I agree on as opposed to many is that arguing about politics, sex, and religion, (not allowed here), and Wave is done as fun to bring out the truth. (The motto of my Alma Mater is "Truth even unto its innermost parts). So, yes in computers stuff often gets bought by consumers first, BUT the fallacy in using this for TPM management is that in Security devices this is not necessarily true.

When we were kids most folks left their front doors open. Most companies did not. End of story.

In either case, the evolution of everything in a trusted system has evolved as Awk points out to the point where there may be similar heart (TPM), lungs (SED) and nervous system (NAC), but the animals Enterprise and Consumer are like different branches of the tree of life. The Enterprise model is currently selling, the consumer model (OpenID, trusted payments, is still in development, and consumers will lock their doors after the factories have locked their offices.

Both will happen and the sooner the better. I'm a consumer, typing on a computer with a TPM and right now it's essentially useless. Give me a date when you think that's going to change.

Barge FYI - Snackman highlighted Unclever's great transcript notes before I could.
