DENISE CASAVANT It is with deep sadness that the family of Denise Marie Augustine Casavant (nee Georget), announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on Monday February 1, 2010 at the age of 78 years. Denise is survived by her loving family: her five sons, Ron (Maureen), Victor (Beverly), Maxim (Lori), Urban (Carolyn), and Dale (Leslie) Casavant; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Aline St. Hilaire and Angeline Marcotte; her sisters-in-law, Alice Georget and Marie Georget; her step-sons, Andre, Don and Denis LaFreniere and their families; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Paul Casavant in 1987; her husband, Leo LaFreniere in 1997; her parents, Joseph and Adelia Georget; her brothers, Oliva, Raymond, and Roger Georget; and brothers-in-law, Roger Marcotte and Leo St. Hilaire; and one sister-in-law, Cecile Georget. Denise was born November 21, 1931, in a sleigh on the way to the Wakaw hospital, on a snowy day. She grew up with two sisters and three brothers, on the farm in Domremy. She attended school in Domremy and then went on to the Rivier Academy in Prince Albert. Denise and Paul were married on October 11, 1949, and together they farmed in Domremy and Crystal Springs, and raised a family of five boys. They moved to Prince Albert in 1965, where they continued to farm and raise their family. In later years Denise and Paul enjoyed many winters in Mesa, Arizona, where many of their family members spent the winter in Trailer Village. After Paul's passing in 1987, Denise occasionally took a trip south with her sisters, brothers and her sons, often with a stop in Las Vegas to try her luck. Mom was always lots of fun and had a great sense of humour. Love would shine upon her once again, during one of her visits to Mesa, when she met Leo LaFreniere, they were married on October 8, 1994. Denise moved to Prud'homme with Leo, for 3 1/2 wonderful years until Leo's untimely passing, following which, Denise moved back to Prince Albert. Denise's great zest for life, her faith, and love of family, helped her to carry on. She enjoyed visiting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her dear friends and relatives and a good game of cards. We will forever cherish our special memories of our Mom, as she will be so greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
