I rented 500 days of Summer this weekend. Don't recall who recommended it here or whether or not they really liked it, but I found the movie to be watchable. For some reason I felt the pain this person was going through, even if he was way too transfixed on his misery. I'm not quite sure why his friends were always there for him? I certainly didn't see him giving anything back in the relationship. Anyway, I enjoyed it enough to recommend renting it. 2.82 pickles.
Nice addition of Minka Kelly at the end. She's way too good for Derek Jeter.

You need to focus...you're house obsessed :)

I totally agree it was fairly easy to guess the ending, but it was just SO fun getting there. In the few Polanski films I've seen, he makes the viewer see what the movie characters see and I love that. I thought Chinatown was excellent, but other than that I've only seen Rosemary's Baby and The Pianist. Even though it was just slightly over 2 hours, I was never bored.

As for the house - Was it built of concrete or cinder blocks or what? I only loved two things in the house...the floor to ceiling walls of glass (the room EM worked in was awesome) and the fireplace that kinda jutted out from the wall with the white rocks - Absolutely loved that. Oh, make that three things - I did like the abstract art. But the house was cold and austere.
