Trader... The way I heard about Skymark-ESR was as a result of one of their marketing methods, I believe.
In August of '09, there appeared a news release from Skymark Research re: one of the penny stocks I've owned for a number of years. The stock has been in the doldrums for a few years struggling to raise the capital to begin Phase II testing of one or more of their products, etc. That's another story...and not for here.
The wording of the SR news item was very similar to the following:
"...CALGARY, Alberta, GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Skymark Research, a leading provider of small- and micro-cap independent investment research, today initiated coverage on XYZ Company (OTCBB:XYZ- News). Skymark Research is currently offering a complimentary trial subscription. To view our research go to: www.skymarkresearch.com..."
I registered with SR for their trial subscription, then downloaded the complimentary report on the above mentioned Company. It was-is an excellent report, covering all aspects of the Company. Very detailed and complete (40+ PDF pages), including a condensed version of the current SEC filing(s).
A few days later, I received my first phone call from an account manager at SR during which we discussed the above Company. He then mentioned and recommended that I consider investigating and doing some DD on TSHO, their then-current recommended stock.
I did. I'm long TSHO. Took a small 'bite' at first...then took several additional bites later. I'm glad he telephoned me. My only regret so far is that we didn't 'meet' sooner. :)
