You are sitting at a computer and try the company name with .org at the end and when nothing comes back you automatically figure that the company doesn't exist and don't even try .com.

C'mon man. Give us something believable.

Okay - I tried this out on my 7-year old daughter. I told her that I was trying to look at some news on worldnews.net ( I don't know if this site exists - I made it up) and it was coming up blank. Did she have any ideas?
She said: "Try worldnews.com"
I would say that I find your theory very hard to believe, that someone is stumped when he can't find a "new Website" that he just heard about, and did NOT try .com! Just my opinion, but I really find it hard to believe.
