Seems to be reasonable and a logical way of looking at it. But, that doesn't mean that is what is happening. Just seems a bit odd to issue a PR and word it in the form of containers instead of quantity and/or dollar amount. For example, when I grocery shop, when I come home, do I say I bought a cart full? That could mean anything. Maybe I bought 20 paper towel rolls. Now, when I come home and say I just bought $200 worth of groceries, that really puts things into prespective. So, the question I raise here is this.... why word the PR to say container? Well... there is only one logical answer and that is to keep the quantity an unknown to the readers and wow people with the thoughts of how many are in a container.

Trade,

Now, I'm not trying to defend King, because I think he is being rediculous. The PR says that "...the company has ordered the factories that make Zevotek's Ionic Bulb to start producing bulbs in forty foot container load quantities." First, typically, these companies will only manufacture the items (bulbs) once they have been paid. That's just the way it works. Second, A "Freight Container" is a common way to order products made overseas because ordering by the container full is the cheapest way to ship them.

That said, it's not the only way that these companies will ship. I know this first hand. A freight forwarder can be used. freight forwarding is an economical way yo ship less than container loads. Say Company A wants to ship 50 cases of bulbs to China. Company B wants to ship 25 cases of mops. And Company C wants to ship 40 cases of basketballs so we can have a few more guys like Yao Ming. All three companies ship here in the US to the Forwarding Agent's warehouse. The Agent bundles it into one shipment using one set of paperwork, which is delivered to the Forwarding Agents location in China, where is is then split up and shipped by the appropriate carrier method to its final destination. So it IS one shipper and one Consignee because the Forwarding Agent is both. UPS actually does this as UPS Supply Chain Solutions. They do both air and ocean freight.
