Imagine how fast and hard that squeeze will be... It's all up to the judge now.

Judge doesn't have to approve anything, the Trustee has absolute power in this matter.
The other Committee's can file motions to have it disbanded by the Judge but that almost never happens.
Congrats and GL to you guys.

I hope the EC attorneys ask for the time of hearing the motion to be shortened. Now that we have representation, I want this raised by the EC attorneys : Weil represents the debtors in bankruptcy. They hire Quinn to fight the adversary in bankruptcy because Weil has a conflict suing JPM. Weil sues the FDIC in D.C. No conflict then. But JPM then intervenes and is granted the intervention. So doesn't this create a conflict in the D.C. case. The fact that there is a stay doesn't eliminate the conflict. I want to see the EC put the pressure on Weil. I have great faith in the EC and believe it guarantees common a recovery!

Isn't it possible that JPM, or a cohort, could hold all the remaining short shares? We're only talking about +/- 6mil. This would provide an explanation why they havn't been covered yet. In reality (JPM or one of thier partners in crime) would not feel a need to cover the short position until a settlement is officially agreed upon. This is the only explanation I can come up with, considering the minimal potential gain vs. the huge potential loss. Unless, of course, they are phantom shares.

This appears as an insider holding that will be played based on insider information.

totally agree fssh... there are some good folks on that EC looking out for all equity. As we are apparently at the end of the line, and more apt to get schnorkled than most...the EC is a godsend. Beyond what seems offensive on the face about what WMI attorneys are saying about equity, I believe they need to say this to support the larger picture.

That is just a dangerous position for these attorneys to maintain for too long. For God's sake, THJMW better rule pretty quick here on something because there may be some holders of this who were boinked originally (Sept 08) and now hearing "no equity" again...is just dangerous for these attorneys to support for longer than is absolutely necessary. Someone better make a move here pretty quick or...ya know...this thing has the potential to create some scenario that is just downright ugly.
