MM play games. I have "hit" the ask a few times and they give 5k and move the ask. As I have said numerous times, as long as the technical picture remains in a defensive posture (50 day ma below the 200 day ma......also the stock trading well below the 20 week ma) I am not in a hurry to chase more shares and am happy to let the nervous sellers give me their shares. Don't forget it is people on the bid side that offer support for the stock as well.
