#217 RE: Specalculator1 #208

That said, I'm not sure if any have cheated on their spouses. As best I can tell none did, therefore an opinion is not formed

That's true, as far as we know none did. But that surely doesn't mean it didn't happen. The fact of the matter is that people in the public eye, meaning everyone from athletes to politicians, and everyone in between, never really had to worry about being "discreet" because main stream didn't, and wouldn't have reported it even if they knew. It wasn't until basically the 80's that any of them had to worry. That is about the time when public figures became open game for any and all media outlets.

We never heard a peep about JFK and his philandering ways. Nor did we know about guys like Wilt Chamberlain et al and what they were up to.

These days..if you are about to become, or already are famous, you better watch your ASS!!! Tiger screwed up. No if's, and's, or but's about it, but time will heal this. Nobody died. He didn't break any laws except for minor traffic violations. He did however break his wedding vows and in the eyes of the church that is a sin. That requires he goes to confession and repents. And receives absolution and is given penance. But that only get's him straight with God.

He still needs to "own it" as you said, and get things straight with his wife. If she'll have him, and I suspect she will.

Make no mistake about it, Tiger totally betrayed his wife. But we also don't know what kind of marriage they had. In trying to be such a "private" guy we don't know about any happy family stories. Or how Tiger and Elin got along. For all we know it was a living hell inside his house...or not, we just don't know.

My guess is that sometime real soon we're going to see a press conference where he begins to make amends for all his bad deeds and get on with the process of living his life. IMO he will definitely still play golf. It's going to be awkward as hell at first but he'll tough it out and take his medicine. And I wouldn't be surprised to see a show that has both Tiger and Elin on it. Just like Kobe and his wife did, and he DID commit a crime, or was at least alleged to have committed one.

This whole issue sucks out loud and I wish it had never happened. I'm sure Tiger is feeling that way too. But life will go on. He's going to win more tournaments. And I hope he works things out with his wife. There is too damn much divorce in our country. Kids today throw in the towel at the drop of a hat. Marriage is a tough gig. Or at least it sure can be. I've been married for 30 years and I can attest to how hard it can be for any number of reasons. But even when my wife and I fought like cats and dogs at the end of the day I still loved her. I'm guessing Tiger loves Elin too, maybe now more than EVER!!!!!!!!!!
