Well now you have some "ammo" to use against my more conservative (ahem) Catholics. Just forward that piece critical of the Iraq War. That comes from the top.
The other dichotomy that some Catholics (and Bush for that matter) don't understand is the Church's position on embryonic stem cell research.
In medical science's quest to conceive they tend to "overkill" and create too many embryros to implant. Now some 200 thousand frozen embryros that will never be used and will eventually be discarded because they won't be needed.
And here is where I differ from my Catholic brethren and the pro-life stance. Since they will eventually be discarded why not at least use them to save a life. Let the custodial parents so to speak determine the fate of that embryro and keep the religious right and the conservative politicians out of the debate.
