Athero, Speaking of SA, I just ordered an oral appliance for mild/mod SA. You can now get them without a doctor visit / prescription. I saw it on TV, and it looked identical in design to others I've seen on the internet, so we'll see how well it works.

They don't actually market these on television for SA, but for snoring, though it's the same device used for SA. You heat it in boiling water, then bite into the softened material. It has an air slot in the front, and when in place it opens the bite and protrudes the lower jaw forward, thus preventing the airway from closing off when sleeping on your back.

I'm able to sleep on my side OK, but on my back I'll wake up within a short time unable to breath. Anyway, I figure it's worth a try rather than having to get a CPAP like my father has.

For 13 years my money and this science has languished with Cortex, the company. Please, dear God, if you exist, take ampakines out of their incompetent hands and let somebody with money, smarts and savvy give it a go. If just for future generations.

Lord hear my prayer!
