wind: I think that there has been a big change in AMD management

Corporate cultures don't change that easily and are not attributable to one person. What makes you think that has happened?

There is an old adage in changing corporate cultures. Once implemented, it is so massive, that:
1/3 will actively take the new direction.
1/3 will just go along with it but not be leaders
1/3 will resist it and need to be fired.

BTW, the settlement isn't it. In one way or another AMD was forced to settle. So was Intel. That is the definition of a settlement.

I think AMD management has changed also. But I do not discount the fact that AMD wants to be Intel, it's good business to want this, Intel doesn't want to give up anything, that is good business. It's a tenuous truce, but it's quite a bit more than what I thought would happen on either side. I hope for the best.

I agree - the management change from Ruiz to Meyer was very significant - it was the reason I decided last year to invest in AMD in the first place.

As I understand it, much of the rest of the senior management team is also new - and on the product side, mostly ATI. Does anyone have a feel for the ATI culture? They seem to execute pretty well, and clearly don't have the anti-Intel bias - Intel platforms represent the lion's share of ATI revenue sockets, and I believe the ATI team still maintains a close relationship with their Intel counterparts.
