McAfee Anti-Virus program is just as bad as Norton. The System Resources those programs suck up is just not worth it.

Can you name a few. Also is it good to buy one or use a freebee. You are right that if you do not open any attachment in email, I think you are pretty much safe as far this virus thing goes.

Do you use any PC based only firewall on your computer and if so can you recommend one. I am looking at Zone Labs PC based only firewall and it seems to get a very high rating from both PC world and ZDnet.

Norton is a combo - Virus Protection + Firewall + other security crap.
