The faked legal opinion letters are the key. No lawyer would make that claim unless it was true. If a lawyer claimed the signatures were forgeries and they were not forgeries, I can't think of a quicker way to get your ticket to practice law pulled.

could be! .. if they file civil charges .. usually the first step
and find criminal acts they will refer to the DOJ/IRS and the DOJ will investigate .. they will be in no hurry to file criminal charges because they will build a solid case with tons of documented evidence - subpoenas are a very powerful weapon .. 1 to 2 years .. is not abnormal .. for the DOJ
