VOLUNTARY STATEMENT OF ACCUSED
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF TOM GREEN
My name is Justin David Woods, I am 25 years of age, my date of birth is 10/13/1981, and I presently reside at (address omitted), FL. The person to whom I am giving this statement has been identified to me as Sgt Vince Luciano, a peace officer duly commissioned by the State of Texas.
This statement is being given voluntarily, without fear of duress or threat, and without promise of leniency. Further, I was advised of the following Constitutional Rights:
1. (Initials DW) I have the right to remain silent and not say anything
2. (DW) Any oral or written statement I make may be used as evidence against me in court;
3. (DW) I have the right to have a lawyer present to advise me prior to and during any questioning by peace officers or attorneys representing the state;
4. (DW) If I am too poor to hire a lawyer, then the court will appoint a lawyer for me free of charge and he can advise me before and daring any questioning;
5. (DW) I can decide to talk with anyone and I can stop talking to them at any time I want;
6. (DW) The above rights are continuing rights which can be urged by me at any stage of the proceedings;
and prior to and during the making of this statement I knowingly, intelligently, and voluntarily waive those rights set forth in this document and having knowingly, intelligently and voluntarily waived those rights, I do hereby make the following free and voluntary statement:
(DW) I am letting Sgt. Luciano type my statement for me.
(DW) I was stopped by the Trooper yesterday and he found $140,000.00 in my rent car. I was speeding and let him search. I was taking the money to Paul that I saw a picture of (Sgt Luciano showed me). I had met Paul in Vegas with a friend about a year ago. My friend is Matt Brown that lives at (address omitted), CA. Matt had paid for me to go on vacation with him and Paul. (DW)
(DW) Matt arranged for me to transport the money to Paul for a guy named Joey, who's dad was on the American Inventor show that had made a coffee machine. Sgt. Luciano showed me a picture of Joey's dad on the internet. Matt paid for my airline ticket to LAX to do this job. (DW)
(DW) I had met Joey previously and Joey had ties to the mob from his dad, who was connected in New York. (DW)
(DW) Joey had Matt give me ten thousand dollars for the transport of the money and Matt told me that it was 140,000.00 dollars in the bag. I picked up the money and my payment at matt's house at (address omitted).(DW)
(DW) I had Paul's address and a map to drop the money off there at (address omitted) Delaware and Paul was to drive me to the Philadelphia airport so I could fly back to Florida. (DW)
(DW) Sgt Luciano has shown me pictures of Matt, Paul and Joey's dad and these are the people I am talking about. (DW)
