Gosh, that's unusual. I know several people whose dogs have responded well. My sheltie (got her in 1971) lived to be 19 1/2 years old, but back then there were no treatments for this type of thing. 500 mg. or more per day of the glucosamine should help--vet says it won't hurt them in any way.
