Anadarko’s Activity in the Liberian/Ivorian Basins of West Africa



Why is APC’s discovery at Venus, on the western edge of the Liberian
basin, exciting? Because the character of the find is very similar to the
commercial Jubilee site at the eastern edge of the Ivorian basin. This
increases the likelihood that the Liberian and Ivorian basins are parts
of a 750-mile coastline that has commercial-scale hydrocarbon deposits
from one end to the other. APC and Tullow are the major leaseholders
in these basins.
