First off you don't know if it will be on consignment or not. It's your assumption.
Secondly, you must not know how consignment works. True you don't have to pay until it's sold but if it's damaged while in your possession, it is your responsibility. I sold many cars on consignment over the years and if my porter wrecked it I either had to repair it or buy it. I couldn't return it in any shape other than it was given to me.
My ex-wife had an antique furniture store and the same thing held there. If it was damaged while in the store it was her responsibility.
