#18037 RE: jr1948 #18036

What does anvil have to do with this? It is inconvenient for me to trip to the mine solely for that purpose. It is a 12 hour round trip. But when my wife and I visit my in-laws in East KY it is not inconvenient at all to swing by there while already in the area. I may own no shares at this time but I still find the situation quite interesting. I go there only when it is convenient for me and beating anvil there has nothing to do with the timing of it. He is still free to go see it himself as are you, jr.

How would you have me date the photo? I can easily enable that feature on my camera. But I can also set it to whatever date I desire. So in the end it serves no purpose as proof of fact. You can clearly see from the picture that it was taken in late summertime and we all know the mine was shuttered from March (before the trees leafed out) through at least July 24th (based on MSHA info). That means the picture was most likely taken within the last three weeks (between July 24th and yesterday when I posted it). You give me way too much credit for concocting an elaborate scam if you think I saved that pic from last Summer just to post it now. Here are my pictures from last Summer:

And from late last Fall:

I have never advised anyone to buy, hold or sell. I don’t know why I have to keep stating that.

There is overwhelming evidence that the mine is not currently closed and you have not shared a single shred of evidence to demonstrate that it is, jr. I believe the monthly operating report for August will eventually prove that point positively. It may still fail to turn a profit but that is not a point that I will argue at this time.

That “jet black” coal cannot be accurately judged as having been washed. Another point that you have not considered about that photography… the angle of the sunlight. View the picture again below. You are looking from a distance at the underside of a rapidly moving stream of coal that is not being illuminated by the sunlight. Think about it… The sun is positioned over a near vertical stream of coal, that you claimed to be washed, coming off of the belt head. Consider the position of the other obvious shadows in the picture and you can easily conclude that it was taken at roughly 2PM as I stated previously. If you look again you can tell that I was facing northeast when the picture was taken. That vertical stream of coal will naturally appear darker when compared against a pile that is sitting illuminated by the bright sunlight which was over my left shoulder when the picture was taken. So the sunlight was bearing directly down on the stationary pile of coal and illuminating it. The underside of a moving stream of coal would naturally appear darker. For comparison take a look at the darkness of the shaded lumber stack that is propping the continuous miner head up in the foreground. It is at much the same angle as the vertical coal stream.

Leave my smartness out of this, jr. You have yet to effectively discredit that legitimate picture. Why is it so important to you that no legitimate picture is allowed to stand anyway?

What are your 3rd, 4th and 5th points, jr? Keep it up. You know full well that I won't back down. This is fun. You are giving me the chance to defend this picture and keep it at the top.
