I am hoping to use the technology to clean up the "dead zone" in the Gulf. I am trying to get the investment capital to put together the company, so it might be a while. By that time you might be retired.
I have showed the patent around a bit, and the only person who showed the slightest bit of interest was another microbiologist. The reading isn't that stuffy, but it is still not easy to understand how it works. It just does. A microbe will double its size in 20 minutes under optimum conditions, so the on board retention is minimal if you can feed the microbes fast enough and maintain sufficient mass.
I am using a low throughput version to grow my shrimp, and they are finally starting to multiply in appreciable numbers. That part might be ready for prime time in as little as two weeks.
