Doctor, you may be right. Two outs in the ninth, Dodgers ahead by one run, Big John Broxton had two strikes on the batter and gave up a tying single. Rarely happens but that's baseball.
Very strange game. I watched until the tenth inning started and then went to bed. Bobby Cox got tossed over the strangest set of plays I have ever seen. Fairminded Vin Scully couldn't think of any circumstance that permitted the ump from changing a double play into no outs at all. I saw it replayed several times and I don't get it either. I'll read the Dodger site today and see if there is any explanation for it. Truly odd. And those two players who were apparently called out, then not, scored. Had the Dodgers won the game no telling what Cox would have done. Set fire to the clubhouse? I dunno.
