1)"The unchecked used of antibiotics in animals is another reason for the development of so called super bugs that require different treatments. Who is responsible for this? The Pharma industry, that's who." -- You're correct. Big pharma is resposible, so is government, and so is the AMA with its select few unethical corrupt physicians. My point is that your average local doc is not in a conspiracy to poison America. Physicians offer the treatments that are available -- no one is forced to use them. I feel that natural herbal remedies are beneficial, afterall many drugs are simply natural substances purified into tablet form. It's not that physicians think they don't work--it is just that it is not always accurately quantified. You can get aspirin from willow bark if you make tea from it. Will you get enough, too much, or just the right amount of aspirin? Sure would be bad to damage your kidneys because the tea was too strong. The debate you are trying to have over this is too polarizing--just as the media, government, and others would like it to be.

What do you use if you are allergic to penicillin and tetracycline as many patients are?

I understand your point, but we are all to blame to some degree for the antibiotic mess we are in right now. Many physicians have been taking the easy way by prescribing antibiotics instead of taking the time to explain to the patients why the drug is not needed for a simple viral sore throat. patients bear some blame by demanding something they do not need and also by not completing the course of treatment. But the government and pharmaceutical corruption bears the most blame in my opinion. Again the AMA is a joke. Most of its members are students and resident physicians who join just so they can put it on their resume' . The other portion are practicing physicians who join to get group discount rates on insurance products. I know physicians who plan on changing their insurance so they can quit the AMA. They are quitting because they are finally fed up with the lies and propaganda put forth by the AMA.
