#63096 RE: JMKel #63082

Wrong. It's about time someone like Zell Miller steps up, someone with the guts to say what needed to be said. Bush has taken pop shots from the left practically his whole time in office. Whether it's claiming he's uneducated, that he skipped out on Vietnam, or that he's just after vengeance for Saddam threatening to kill his dad; whether it's saying he couldn't even run a baseball team, or that he's only after oil, that men in black suits are gonna use the Patriot Act to storm into your house and steal your kids, etc. etc. The list goes on and on of the smear campaign by the left to make him look like an uneducated rich hillbilly ultra-right wing gun-toatin' Bible-thumpin' conservative with no concern for the common man, and no concern for the rule of law.

What Zell Miller did essentially was to call out the left for what they really are. There are some people on the left who are strong on national defense, guys like Joseph Biden or Joe Lieberman. These people's beliefs are being trampled on by their liberal "friends" for political gain. Too bad it's the two Johns running instead of the two Joes.

When it comes right down to it, if John Kerry would've had his way instead of the Republicans over the last 20 years, we wouldn't have liberated Kuwait, we wouldn't have won the Cold War, and Western Europe would still be threatened or possibly be under Communist control.

About the only good thing I can think of is, at least our European allies would be a little more supportive of us, since it's obvious today they feel no threats having been saved once again by the U.S., no thanks to John Kerry and Ted Kennedy and the liberal politics they represent.
