Uninstall through the Control Panel and you'll be back to 7.

I have to keep 'windoz updates' completely turned off now. Bill Gates already downloaded the IE8 without my knowledge or consent, but I have not installed it. Heard from several sources there were problems with IE8, so I take a pass on it.
