I think there is a good reason so many conservatives like to compare this with WWII. I fail to see any comparison at all. I do see some with Vietnam but only really because of the war in Iraq.

I don't see Iran as the great evil that so many seem to think it is. They were at war with the Taliban. They were actually backing the Northern Alliance. Something like 60% of that country is under the age of 20. Most of those kids don't like the government any better than you do.
I can understand why people believe in Nuclear disarmament but I fail to see why they should be subject to Israeli, Pakistinian and Indian nuclear weapons at the same time that people are screaming about their weapons development.

So if I understand you correctly, Iraq was an easier target and therefore this was a war of convenience and not substance. I am sure our soldiers would love to hear that. Personally, I do not think we should have invaded anyone (at least until we had more facts). Afghanistan is another story and an invasion was a given; Taliban and organized terror training camps needed to be dealt with, a direct connection to 9/11. We could have secured Afghanistan and round up terrorists from that country while still having presence in the ME. I know you disagree with me, but I see no justifiable reason why our soldiers are in Iraq and giving their lives for what was suppose to be an imminent threat. There are imminent threats all around, unfortunately for our soldiers I do not believe Iraq was one of them. And all the while, terror groups recruit, regroup and those who are a direct threat get more bold with their WMD ambitions while we are bogged down in Iraq. Makes no sense to me...
