The browser issue was initiated by Opera, a European company that had a good browser when Firefox was in its infancy. For some reason, Firefox and Safari grew in marketshare taking it away from IE but Opera stayed in the dumps. Now we have Chrome in the fray too.
I personally think that the competitive market is working in browsers. But you have one small player that doesn't like the results in a competitive market.
Anyone can go and download any browser that they want to. IE gets preinstalled - yeah, so what? You want something else? You have plenty of choices. You can even build your own if you know how to. There are hundreds if not thousands of browsers. I put out some of my own. I don't expect Microsoft to preinstall mine on all Windows systems.
