Let's choose our words carefully, don't you think? First I agree with your meaning that Sun, prior to three years ago was probably working on the Intel Port, for their own defense, if ever needed.

Once the OS is written, getting all to write drivers for it is a second Major task.

We have been speaking of Porting the OS to the particular Architecture, NO one has begun to even speak of drivers, that's another two years down the road.
