Sales price of coal was at $87.00 per clean ton of coal.
With an estimated cost of $77.00 per clean ton of coal.
Unfortunately, the waste percentage is running at 70%.
That means -- it takes three (3) tons of raw coal to make one (1) ton of clean coal.
White Star is paid by tonnage of raw coal -- not clean coal.
As well as the trucking company -- raw coal.
And utilities -- raw coal.
Etc, etc, etc....
Now multiply that $77.00 by three and you get $231.00
Sales price for one ton of clean coal = $87.00
Unit costs per clean ton = $231.00
Economic 101 -- when the cost per unit exceeds the sales price per unit -- the company will generate a loss.
