ST. LOUIS (TICKER) -- The St. Louis Rams on Tuesday added depth along the offensive line, signing veteran guard Heath Irwin.
Terms were not disclosed.
Irwin, who turns 29 later this month, spent the last two seasons with the Miami Dolphins. The 6-4, 301-pound Irwin started the final seven games last season at left guard.
"He enables us to add some real experience to the offensive line, an area where we're awfully young and inexperienced," Rams coach Mike Martz said.
A 1996 fourth-round pick of New England, Irwin spent his first four seasons with the Patriots. During his career, he has started 24 of 73 games.
