That pretty much sums up my sentiment on it. Just because someone FALLS for a scam, it doesn't mean they should be hurt by it. The scam shouldn't be allowed to EXIST in the first place. Crap is always going to slip through the cracks, but IF there was concern about being caught AND be made to PAY in EXCESS of their profits, including lots of jail time, that would be a very strong deterrent. As it is, they know they can get away with it, unless it reaches monumental proportions. And even then, if they get busted, they'll most likely end up paying a fine that is less than what they gained. There's something seriously screwed up about that!
