Below is info on Medarex.

I can not recall them as holder of IDMI stock either. Here is aquestion I have for the board. I remember right after IDM got European approval, the only ana;yst covering the stock (the one that has $1.6 target), spoke on the news and name a company that he saw as a potential partner. I have to admit, I have never heard of that company, and I can not recover this piece from yahoo news to see if the comapny he brought up was in fact Medarex.. Anybody remembers/have thoughts? Thanks.

Medarex is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and potential commercialization of fully human antibody-based therapeutics to treat life- threatening and debilitating diseases, including cancer, inflammation, autoimmune and infectious diseases. from Medarex last quarterly filing:(322M cash.. CEO eludes that in q109 they "strengthened their pipeline".. and they also show they owned shared in 2 other companies).. either Medarex is just investing like they did in Genmab and Celldex Therapeutics.. or they are moving to buy the company... If they are buying.. with 322M, I'd think they are not going to pay more than 8/share.. Not big enough to pay 15-20 share.

Medarex ended the first quarter of 2009 with approximately $322.8 million in
cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities. In addition, as of March 31, 2009, the
fair market value of Medarex's equity interests in Genmab and Celldex Therapeutics
were approximately $85.3 million and approximately $32.3 million, respectively.

"Our first quarter accomplishments and steady progress of key development
programs towards proof-of-concept have given us a strong start to an exciting year," said
Howard H. Pien, Chairman and CEO of Medarex. "In addition to furthering our pipeline, we
are also capitalizing on value-creating opportunities, including our agreement with
Merck and the progress and recent approvals for products developed by licensee
partners. Our future prospects will remain strong as we continue to advance the pipeline,
leverage multiple opportunities and execute a solid business strategy."

my first thoughts are that they got those shares on our runup in late march and then the big transaction april 1st was not to JMP but to Medarex. This being the case don't they have to file a form since they own 10% or thereabout? we could see when they got these shares. this explains a lot of what is going on. After they get their shares we conveniently go back down and get stuck. I think Medarex is still accumulating and has PA's blessing in doing so. this so bleed is great for making longs frustrated. They are soaking whatever float up that they can. Which also leads me to believe that the buyout will ONLY happen when PA, Medarex and the possible 3rd party are ready. We all thought something like this all along so now it makes sense why the lack of news etc. They want as many shares as possible for the big payday we all believe is coming.

patience boys patience! Medarex didn't buy 2.6 million shares to lose money this late in the game. They wanted to be at the table baby! this is huge.
