Interestingly enough, I read on a website that the only thing "done" to make meat "halal" is the reciting of a prayer just before they slit the animal's throat while it's hanging upside down.
They have their own inspectors, as well, to insure things are done in the proper fashion.
I don't see how this makes a plant "halal", myself. Any physical building/operation can become "halal", it seems.
Right?
