Manti, interesting observation. Here is an exercise for you (I must confess that I do not have the wherewithal to do it myself). Keep in mind that the numbers I am using are entirely made up, and the assumptions can be changed at will.
Assuming 500 billion AS/OS
Assuming 2 billion shares traded per day
Assuming 80% of trades are on the buy side (strange huh?)
Then 1.6 billion shares bought per trading day means 313 trading days required to eat up the AS (or about 16 months).
The reason I brought this up is because some enterprising folks on this board were kind enough to publish some of the trading numbers and the buy/sell ratio for a few days, meaning that one should be able to predict some point in time when the allowable shares would be gone (using some general assumptions, of course)
