It's just telling you that your sound driver is not the latest available. That would have nothing to do with the 3d video test. Did you go back to the first page of the pcpitstop test and click the troubleshooting bell? It will give you some ideas about your problem.

It is possible but not probable that the

Sound driver could be the cause. Since it is an on mobo sound card, it would be using resources.

Can't hurt to update it

I am seeing a slew of interesting problems, a disturbance in the force if you will, since the most recent MSFT update has downloaded. It may be coincidence, because all kinds of goofy stuff seems to be happening to people's computers.
