#77625 RE: DesertDrifter #77624

americans are not used to feeling malaise and discontent as a nation, and seem to be stumbling around figuring out how to express it.

Huh? The last 8 years with the Bush administration running the show got most of us feeling "discontent"...putting it mildly. It's true that most of us never got "used" to it though.

anger is one way, but we are not experienced at civil unrest, so i guess it will be fought on cable networks and hopefully at the ballot box,

It's hard to practice civil unrest when it doesn't do any good, and worse, that there's a likelihood of ending up being charged with some kind of offense.

but the trouble is that we are pissed because we never seem to get clean choices there, as they all tend to blend into a soup of corruption and the big question is how the hell do we change it?

I agree with you. How do we change it? With a lot more civil unrest.....a whole helluva lot more. I'm not suggesting that the tea party people were on the best track though, and the biggest protests should have come during the Bush administration tenure.
