Are you assuming...

I have Firefox or is that an option at pcpitstop.com?

The old pc does not have Firefox.

Hey Bruce...

At pcpitstop, it gives these possible causes for the freeze-ups during the video test:

Video test: This is almost always due to a bad video driver, and there are several fixes/workarounds: 1) Use a different video resolution or color depth for your display; 2) Update your video driver, preferably getting one with WHQL certification; or 3) Turn off video acceleration. To turn off acceleration in Windows 98/Me, go to Control Panel | System | Advanced | Graphics. For Windows XP, go to Control Panel | Display | Settings | Advanced | Troubleshoot. In both cases, there is a slider that you move to the left to decrease use of acceleration.

I went here:

http://www.webdoodles.org/pages/screentest.htm

and reset the video resolution and color depth to 1280 X 1024 pixels (SXGA or XVGA) which is found on 19 and 17 inch flat screen monitors and I changed the 32 bit color to 16 bit.

Everything got smaller on the monitor, but still locked up during the pcpitstop 3D video test.

If it's the video driver that needs to be updated, where can I found out what video card I have and where to get the driver updated?

Thank you.
