Since no one else has answered yet, I think you need to start over. Do you want to format and install XP from the cd that you have? If the answer is yes, you need to set your bios to boot from the cd-rom. If it's not already set to boot that way, let us know and we can walk you through doing that. This will get you back to do a clean install of XP. Put the XP disk in and reboot and if you don't get a prompt to "boot from cd" your bios needs to be changed.
