In order for IDCC to conduct business and sign a license agreement with Ericy, it would have affected NOK no matter what. The law wasn't involved in a sense. IDCC/Ericy settled without the courts, just like they would have done if they didn't choose to file a lawsuit.
NOK played a dangerous game, and lost. Now they want the court to intervene because they lost the gamble.
