downsideup you opine, "I still don't think it is necessarily a net negative for the auction to proceed."
Would your opinion change if you had seven figure holdings since you first read a 9/18/1995 feature article in an energy weekly showing and telling about huge heretofor undrilled reservoirs located in the deep shelf 4 miles under the BA39 lease that your Trust had a 50% interest in? And then witnessed two years later Shell drill one of those targets for a daily flow test rate of 121mmcfd, with settled production of 84mmcfd, that is still the most talked about discovery on the GOM shelf?
And that "Alex" project is within a stone's throw of your lease? And you see that your operator identified not one but two geologically similar huge reservoirs on your lease and planned to joint venture with the largest energy company in Australia, Woodside Energy, which was/is 34% owned by Shell? And that a well was drilled that encountered 90' of pay in four separate horizons, despite the fact that they had up-hole problems that forced them to quit drilling 1,000' short of the targeted "Alex" sand? And that there are at least 20 low-risk high productive rate long life development wells on four 3.3 sq.mi. lease blocks that we have a significant interest in? And that natural gas prices are set for big average gas prices in the future? AND YOU WOULD NOT GET A SHARE OF THIS IN THE FUTURE, EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE SPENT OVER A HALF MILLION TO GET TO YOUR POSITION BEGINNING OVER 20 YEARS AGO, AND HELD ON JUST BECAUSE YOU HAD KEPT UP WITH THESE EXTREMELY POSITIVE EVENTS AS THEY UNFOLDED.
Sorry, but your opinion is nothing short of maniacle; are you one of those "maniacs" from Maine? You absolutely look a gift horse in the mouth, and let others here load the boat. What were you in sports; the waterboy, like the one I had in high school, that threw us players the towels and hollared words of encouragement like "Blood & guts, guys". You might be built like that, but fortunately most of us are red-blooded American capitalists who look for rare opportunities like this. Oh well, the good book tells us that "the meek shall inherit the earth", whatever that means.
