MikeDDKing: OT That law still puts an expensive burden on crafters. Our local paper did an article on the subject. The point is, we don't want our lives micro-managed by educated-idiot bureaucrats, though I wonder whether some of them are high-school grads!
Much like any other mandates it is not that simple. Sure retailers can sell used clothing and toys IF they pay to have them all tested for lead and it is cost prohibitive to do so. If they dont have them tested then they run the risk of unknowingly selling an item that exceeds the limit. That is where the fear lies.
