otc - I am wondering if any posters have taken any steps towards basic suvival with an eye towards the worst case scenerio. If so would you share.

I've been studying the entire Mad Max trilogy, including: Mad Max, The Road Warrior, and of course Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.

One little tidbit that I have picked up on is that for some reason a Supercharged Ford Falcon early 1970's era Hardtop is the perfect Amrageddon type vehicle. I'll be scouring the Car Ads this weekend, hopefully ahead of the mad rush for these cars.

best.

I see everyone took my post seriously. i guess everyone will just wait for fema to bring them some food and water. Lets buy some GM and Citibank. They are sure to catch fire. LOL! Still think this is going to be a normal correction? Still think the gubbermint will offer the solutions instead of making it worse and are not partially behind this charade? Anyone know where that 3 trillion went? LOL! Still think the open border policy is about compassion? Still think you are free?

Survival preparations:

Lessee...I'm within 2 miles of upwards of 20 chicken houses. That's about a half million potential chicken dinners. There are 2 ponds with fish in my back yard. There's a small farm with cattle just up the road. A deer path right behind the house. Flocks of geese on occasion. Plenty of wood to burn. Loaded rifle beside the bed.
There is food around. Just need to stock up on seasonings.
As for possible anarchy, well...we're 5 miles from "town", 50 miles from any real urban area (Fayetteville, Charlotte.) Any wanderers that happen upon our hidey-hole, we'll have to deal with on a first come first serve basis. Thanks to our sandy soil, it's easy to dig holes.
Don't know what else we can do except being good neighbors, ready to band together if need be.
This is not the future that some of my favorite SF writers envisioned and I'm just a tad disappointed. Then again, there is one book that might come close... "The Postman". Not the movie, the book.

otcbargains, re: Survival Preparation ... !!!

I have loaded up on BEEF JERKY and bottled water ... .

And, as I've said before, my "CODE RED PLAN" is to drive
up to Kansas and move in with Len Tinman, because I
know he will be well prepared. Now, if Len only has
enough food and supplies for ONE PERSON, we will have
to flip a coin to see who has to leave out (I always have a
two-headed coin with me, just in case ...).
