Actually, if protecting this mouse is done by paying wages to someone, then it definitely does stimulate the economy.

Your argument should be that spending should be ranked by how much it stimulates, and how much the country would benefit from the work done. Even hiring some people to bury dollars, and hiring others to dig them out would stimulate the economy.

There is no such provision in the bill. The salt mouse was a contrivance used by Republican opponents in the debate that is totally false.

The Stimulus Bill does have funding for wetlands protection but there is no funding for a San Francisco Bay project let alone the salt mouse.

There seems to be a lot of conversation over something that I don't think is even part of the bill.

Can you point to which section of the bill I can find this, or kindly refrain from making such a big deal out of nothing?

It's right here, and I already did a short search for "mouse", "salt", and "San". No matches.
