Welcome '99Dan..I am glad to hear your story and of your success. You're an inspiration.

Yes, if I'm going to make it the next ½ century I figure I'd better start doing some good things for my body.

What about vitamins?..you think they do any good?..
got any thoughts on them?..I don't necessarily want to take a handful a day, but I thought about taking one GOOD one or two.
I know some of my older family members (Dad, Mom, etc) take B-12 and folic acid pretty religiously....

99Dan, Wow ..I wish I could do half as what you do,when I get to 65(no joking).

I do the treadmill 5 days a week for 30 minutes at 3.6 mph and a 14% incline. I also walk 2 to 3 miles outdoors every day with my wife.

Thats great, make sure you swing that arms when you walk.^^

Anyway.. Welcome to the board Sir!

99Dan, welcome to the board! Thanks for the inspirational post. I too am a great believer in vitamins. Seems to be a grey area with the AMA so everyone has to pretty much go it alone - but well worth it. Exacly what each individual's body needs is still a mystery.

There's so much vitamin hype out there these days, they're giving vitamins a bad name and turning people off. Started using B complex and some other stuff in the sixties when Adele Davis came out with her book. Been on and off since then. One thing for sure - they haven't gotten any cheaper - greedy world we live in...

I never really experienced any significant difference with or without taking vitamins. Although it's reasonable to expect something for your money, I don't think that should be the main focus. It's more a lifestyle change. Some day they'll be able to show direct correlations between vitamind and health, although I've seen some amazing results in friends over the years.

Speaking of years... I'll be turnin' the big 60 this month. We have a good age range in here. Got some young'ns like Tim and Wang, Dave in the middle, and me and 99Dan to keep you all in line. LOL

One thing we all share is discipline and motivation - comes with age. The challenge is to get to where we want to be (for ourself or for others). This board definitely helps. GLTA
