A company dumping shares is not manipulation as I understand it.

Companies who need equity sharing in order to raise money for operations are not manipulating. They are doing what is expected of them.

Naked short sellers hide behind a variety of personnas.

Out of all the stocks in the world why would TDA and ETRADE be concerned if Gene was dumping shares.... and if that is what they were concerned about, why wouldn't they just say dumping as opposed to manipulation.

Manipulation:

The act of artificially inflating or deflating the price of a security. In most cases, manipulation is illegal. It is much easier to manipulate the share price of smaller companies, such as penny stocks, because they are not as closely watched by analysts as the medium- and large-sized firms.

Dumping:

The selling of large amounts of a stock or stocks in general at whatever market prices are in effect.
