sonetirot-I was considering more of a redemption type of purchase by the company (options redeemed back to the company) not necessarily something that needs to be reported as a sale by the individual to the company (it could be like a cash compensation). Company need not keep the investors in the dark...it could just say that "for the following reasons like...company's confidence in the stock, to avoid unnecessary misconceptions about insider sales, or now that we have enough cash flow...the company is buying back some of the options that it has given to its management". I guess that is too much to ask for...probably no company would do that. It is pretty cheap and builds investor's confidence.
