We have a long history of dehumanizing others -- Native Americans, the Japanese, Muslims. In order to justify war, I suppose it's necessary to dehumanize the opposition. I agree that Israel is in hostile territory, and I do not see a solution as both parties legitimately claim a right to the land.
I cannot imagine if Canada or Mexico were lobbing missiles into the US, so I can certainly empathize with Israel's plight, but I see no solution to the pointless cycle of violence and death.

I pointed that parallel out to you a couple of days back. I din't realize at the time but we seem to disagree on who's playing the native population and whom the violent expansionist European settlers in this scenario. That seems hard to imagine.
