I haven't always been complimentary of management, but let me ask you if you had been placed in charge of IDCC and them broke, and involved in a lawsuit with Motorola, which you lose, and could have easily folded the company. How would you have accomplished what Harry and the board did, to have the company 15 years later not only in business, but about to explode to the upside on growth.
I think what they did was a amazing feat. They have rewarded themselves handsomely for sure, but all investors could have lost everything had they not had the ability to keep the company going and prospering. I lost almost all I had but I balme myself for not cashing at least half, but for those who didn't lose and still hold the same shares or more, I think they will be rewarded for holding. If they sold back then maybe they would have had that money in a Madoff fund and not even know it.
Don't begrudge Harry as we don't know how much he actually contributed to the day to day operations, but we know one thing he would fire a CEO in a heart beat.
