John, the malaria vaccine was just an example as to ability to produce large amounts of protein. There is no active malaria program I am aware of (but I guess there was one once that successfully produced FSP-1 antigen or something close to that. And I believe it was successfully tested in primates (worked in something like 5 of 6 if I remember correctly.) With regard to Genzyme or Elan, why indeed. Maybe they felt FDA would take their time or be resistant maybe right on both until we see approval.So unless we have been told this story inaccurately by management, I stick with my vote. Its possible that industry insiders know this technology will somehow be leapfrogged by something, but so far I don't see anything in the public domain to prove that. bp
