"thank you. LOL!!"

I remember in the 60's TV Repairman was a thriving business. They had vans with all the tubes and parts in there and would come to your house to do the repairs so it wasn't necessary to carry that huge console TV into the shop. Now they are few and far between, and since their are no tubes, they mainly just change out circuit boards, ususally with a used one from a salvage TV since the new boards are expensive and sometimes not even available. The TV repair shops end up looking like a TV junkyard. Times sure have changed.

i miss the old days when the mr fix it man and his shop were part of the village, along with the bakery, the grocer, the barber, the police dept, the butcher, you get the picture...

we have a guy who fixes lamps in the neighborhood.. hes got a cute little storefront but the old lamp i brought in to be re-wired cost me more than the lamp... and he didnt have that "nice uncle" kind of personality... in fact id say customer service wasnt his skill...

i think i would like to live in that make believe town of mayberry with andy, barney, opey and aunt bea, floyd, goober, otis, etc....except in reality those places tend to be real prejudice against people who aint like them...
